Cygnets are OUTSTANDING again!

We are absolutely delighted at this outcome from our recent inspection!

‘Children thrive in this early years setting’ states Ofsted. ‘The providers curriculum is broad and ambitious’

‘Children make rapid progress’

‘Children are highly enagaged’

‘Staff expertly read strories’

‘Children’s social skills are well embedded’

‘The provider has provided excellent partnerships with parents.’

‘The provider supports children and parents ready for school.’

These are some of the comments from the inspection report and are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the staff along with the support of our families and wider community.

Cygnets are proud to be one of the amazing preschool/childcare settings in the Purbeck area, offering excellent, individually styled childcare and education for all our children.

Cygnets are located in the grounds of Swanage Primary School and are one of the main feeder Preschools for the Primary school. From the 1st of September, we will become part of the Coastal Learning Partnership, along with the school. We will continue to operate from within our current building and are super excited to become part of Swanage Primary School.

We are excited to receive a grant from the Dorset Gardens Trust

We were very happy to say that out grant application from Dorset Gardens Trust has given us £300 to spend on a new planter for the children. If we can get it fixed together by the end of term, we are hoping that the children will help us plant some pumpkins for the Autumn.

Carnival

We would like to say a huge thank you to Swanage Carnival who have raised an amazing amount of money this year to support so many local charities and organisations!

We were very lucky to be chosen as one of these charities and are extremely grateful for the £1000 we received that will be put into staff training to help support our children with SEN.

Start of a new academic year

We are excited to start the new year at full speed ahead with our returning children and our new starters. We have had a change in staffing, with Jane moving on to the Swanage School as their receptionist and Administrator, Gemma stepping up to be our new Deputy, and Sabrina our new admin. We are all looking forward to our new roles.

EXCITING NEWS FROM CYGNETS!!!

From September we are looking to offer breakfast club (from 8am) as well as after school care for 2-5 year olds. Please contact Cygnets to arrange to look around, chat to staff and book your child’s place for September ’23’ 😀

Trips Out

Tuesday 6th June 2023

Today we took the children to the Dementia Friendly Cafe at the Mowlem. We met and chatted to some of the people there. We had a snack and a drink and then we did some singing for them. It was lovely to be out in the community visiting people.

Visitors

We had one of the children’s parents bring their guitar in to sing with the children. We sang songs we know, did some action songs and listened to new songs. The children all loved listening to the guitar and joined in beautifully with the singing.
